During the month of June we were blessed to receive a $6,000 unrestricted donation from one of our members. So by definition it should have been a great month financially. But what did we do? Yep. You guessed it. We decided to spend $3,294 on 15 twin beds for men freed from human trafficking! Then we decided to spend $2,000 in support of a rehab center being built in West Virginia by Mike D’Aversa. Oh yeah. We now make monthly support payments to the Little Food Pantry initiative at the Flemington Food Pantry. And we purchased chicken feed for the free eggs program that Mike and Maggie are running. And still that wasn’t enough. So we donated $250 to the Coalition For Peace Action Committee that is run out Princeton by Rev. Bob Moore… a bunch of Peter Schutz types who believe we should pressure our government to reduce our military budget and other things to mitigate the possibility of an nuclear war catastrophe.
In summary, we took what could have been a great month financially and turned it into a truly fantastic month of living our faith. In addition, we gleaned for the America’s Grow A Row and we rallied for justice and diversity in Milford. Our contributions in those areas don’t show up in the financials, but are important parts of our mission work.
All funds donated to our church are put to use in the community month-after-month to put our love and faith into action.
